Greenwood sweeps baseball doubleheader from UHA

University Heights Academy dropped a high school baseball doubleheader Saturday at Greenwood.

In the first game, the Blazers led 2-0 entering the bottom of the third, but the Gators would score four times in the third, fourth, and fifth frames to end the game 12-2 after five innings.

Cadence Gibson had a double and single and Jackson Flynn added a single for UHA, which was limited to only three hits in the game.

Hayden Hunt suffered the pitching loss.

In the second game, an error in the bottom of the sixth allowed the Gators to score two runs and take a 4-2 victory.

UHA had only four hits with Hunt smacking a double. Ryan Luckey, Gibson, and Flynn also had hits for the Blazers.

UHA had taken a 2-0 lead in the top of the third after Hunt’s RBI double and a sacrifice fly by Aiden Jones.

A two-run homer by Henry Justice tied the game in the bottom of the fourth.

Gibson suffered the pitching loss for the Blazers, who fell to 4-3 on the season. UHA is scheduled to go to Heritage Christian Academy for a District 8 game at 4 p.m. today.
