University Heights Academy’s boys’s soccer team is moving on to the All “A” Classic State Soccer Tournament quarterfinals.
Griffin McCoy scored twice and Cal Givens had an assist to lead the Blazers to a 2-1 win over host Mayfield Saturday night in the Section 1 championship.
Eli Finch had six saves in goal for the Blazers (7-4), who advance to play Prestonsburg at 2:30 p.m. local time on Saturday at Louisville Assumption.
Prestonsburg defeated Menifee County 2-0 Saturday and has won five straight matches, all by shutout.
UHA is back in action tonight in a District 8 match at home against Fort Campbell.
