In a matchup of two of the top girls’ soccer teams in Region 2, the host University Heights Academy Lady Blazers edged Madisonville-North Hopkins 2-1 Tuesday night.
Skylar Cantrell led UHA with a goal and an assist and Kendall Hancock added a goal.
Madison Williams had five saves in goal for the Lady Blazers, who finished the regular season with a 12-3 record.
UHA will begin postseason play as the top seed in the District 8 Tournament. The Lady Blazers will face Christian County at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Givens Field in the district tournament semifinals.
