University Heights Academy senior Cole Glover took home a medal after earning a top-15 finish in the 2024 Kentucky Beef Council Cross Country State Championships Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
Glover had one of his best times of the season in the Class 1-A state championship race, finishing with a time of 17:08.76. The time was good enough for 13th place overall.
Middle schoolers Ronan Croney-Sallie and Graham Conrad were 81st and 94th, respectively, and Jude Finch finished 83rd as the Blazers took 11th place as a team.
Croney-Sallie finished in 19:10.66. Finch crossed the line in 19:12.86 and Conrad was right behind at 19:25.64.
Also running for the Blazers were Zech Davis (164, 20:45), Garrett Bowling (187, 21:34.55), and Scar Venable (202, 22:16.61).
Louisville Collegiate’s James Gurley won the boys’ Class 1-A meet with a time of 15:50.62.
Villa Madonna earned the team title with 108 points, followed by St. Henry (173) and Dawson Springs (181). Fort Campbell was 14th with 427 points.
In the girls’ Class 1-A race, UHA’s Molly Cavinder was 191st with a time of 30:56.33 in her first state title meet.
Beechwood’s Lily Parke won the meet in a time of 19:01.72.
Lexington Christian won the team championship with 53 points and won in a tiebreaker over Beechwood (53). Owensboro Catholic was third with 99 points.
