Lady Colonels have ‘unfinished business’ in 2024-25

The Christian County Lady Colonels’ basketball team has some “unfinished business” heading into the 2024-25 season.

Speaking at the media day activities earlier this month at the Planters Bank-Jennie Stuart Sportsplex, Christian County coach Kiki Radford said her team is ready to get the season started.

The Lady Colonels will be counting heavily on their top four players including seniors NeVaeh Day, Amari Northington, and Lazarie Daniel, and junior Anaysia Bagwell.

Bagwell will run the point guard spot with help from sophomore Genesis McGee and senior DEbony Anderson.

Northington and sophomore Carliah Hobson will be the primary shooting guards.

Day can play all five positions as can Daniel.

Radford said she likes her team’s depth this season.

Radford said fans can continue to see her team use the press defense to jumpstart the offense.

Christian County is ranked No. 20 in The Courier Journal Preseason Top 25.

The Lady Colonels will play a difficult schedule, opening Dec. 6 at Kenwood in Clarksville, Tenn. In addition, they will play No. No. 11 McCracken County in the Holiday Hoopla Classic, No. 23 Bowling Green, and No. 22 Owensboro. They also are scheduled to play No. 17 Bullitt East in the Robert Alexander Queen of the Commonwealth Tournament and are part of the Lady Invitation of the South where they will play at Allen County-Scottsville.

The Lady Colonels also will be eyeing the Dec. 12 game at No. 7-ranked Henderson County, the defending region champs that knocked Christian County out of the 2024 Region 2 tournament.

Christian County will be looking for its first regional championship since 2004 and its first region title appearance since 2018.
