The Christian County High School wrestling team took ninth place in the Class 2-A State Duals Saturday at Corbin High School.
The Colonels fell 53-14 to Louisville Moore and 55-22 to Boyle County. But they rebounded to knock off Anderson County 50-25 before beating Fort Thomas Highlands 49-27 in the ninth-place match.
Anthony Velasco went 4-0 with four pins on the day for the Colonels.
Jaiden Williams went 3-1 with a pin and two technical falls. Tay Martinez also went 3-1 with a pair of pins and a technical fall and Treshawn Crenshaw went 3-1 with a pin.
Other Colonels competing on Saturday included Kevondre Young (Two wins, 1 TF), Dane Miller (Two wins, 1 Pin, 1 TF), DeAsian Harris (Two wins, 1 Pin), Malachi James (One win, 1 Pin), Nathan Harrison (One win, 1 pin), Braylan Patla (One win, 1 pin), Deacon Harrison (One win, 1 pin), and Cayden Hayden (One win).
Paducah Tilghman won the Class 2-A state duals championship with Moore taking second place and Johnson Central finishing third.
