University Heights Academy senior Griffin McCoy took home a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash Sunday at the High School Classic Indoor Track Meet at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center in Louisville.
McCoy finished in a time of 22.68 seconds to pick up the bronze medal. He also finished seventh in the 55-meter dash in a time of 6.73 seconds.
The Blazers’ Logan Miller finished seventh in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 8.37 seconds.
UHA’s 200-meter relay team also earned a top-10 finish by taking eighth in 1:35.56.
Ryan Luckey competed in several events including the 55-meter dash (60, 7.20), 200-meter dash (75, 57.26), and 400-meter dash (55, 57.26). Harlow Hampton finished 47th in the 200-meter dash in 24.64 seconds.
Tobias Duncan took 39th in the 800-meter run in 2:11.63 and Zech Davis was 56th in 2:21.84.
For the Lady Blazers, Emma Dill earned ninth place in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.85 seconds. Dill and teammate Palin Hampton ran in the 400-meter dash finishing in 46th and 52nd place, respectively.
AJ Oatts was 32nd in the 200-meter dash (28.70 seconds) and 36th in the 55-meter dash (7.97 seconds). She also took 29th in the Long Jump with a leap of 13-01.25.
Palin Hampton was 44th in the 55-meter dash (8.23) seconds and Aliviah Acree finished 53rd (8.48 seconds). Hampton also ran 50th in the 200-meter dash (30.28 seconds), while Acree was 57th in 30.72 seconds.
The Lady Blazers’ 400-meter relay team took 10th in a time of 4:56.96.
UHA will compete in the KHSAA Class 1-A Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 5.
