The Christian County Lady Colonels will be seeking their first trip to the Girls’ Region 2 Basketball Tournament finals since 2011 tonight when they take on Crittenden County at Lyle Dunbar Gym.
The Lady Colonels advanced to the semifinals on Tuesday night with a 70-51 win over Madisonville-North Hopkins. Crittenden County defeated Union County 46-39.
Christian County is 18-9 and enters the game on a four-game winning streak. The Lady Colonels have won eight of their last nine games, including the District 8 tournament last week.
The Lady Rockets won the District 5 title and enter the game with a 22-7 record. They come into tonight’s game on a three-game winning streak.
Christian County defeated Crittenden in their only matchup this season 56-49.
The Lady Colonels’ last Region 2 title appearance came in 2011 when they lost to Crittenden County 53-49.

The Lady Rockets’ last appearance in the Region 2 championship was in the 2023 season when they lost to Henderson County 71-53.
The first semifinal game tonight will feature six-time defending champion Henderson County against Hopkins County Central at 6 p.m. Airtime for the game is around 5:50 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm.
