Stewart steps down as HCA volleyball coach

Heritage Christian Academy is looking for a new volleyball coach after Grace Stewart announced her resignation on Friday.

Stewart said she was stepping down to spend more time with family.

“I am truly grateful for the opportunity that was afforded me five years ago,” Stewart said. “I love Heritage, the program, and especially all the girls. I know they will continue to be successful in their next chapter and I will continue to their biggest fan.”

HCA Athletics Director Matt McGowan thanked Stewart for her time leading the Lady Warriors’ program.

“We are grateful for Coach Stewart’s impact on our volleyball program and for the lives of our student-athletes,” he said. “From her time in a Lady Warrior uniform to her time holding the clipboard, Coach Stewart has been the embodiment of Warrior Athletics.”

Stewart coached HCA to a 24-6 record in 2024 and won the school’s first Region 2 title in only its second year of KHSAA volleyball. The Lady Warriors also captured the District 8 championship.
