Four area high school basketball players were named to the All-Region 2 Basketball Team announced between the Boys’ Region 2 Basketball Tournament semifinal games on Tuesday night in Madisonville.
University Heights Academy’s Elijah Walton and Tylin George, along with Heritage Christian Academy’s Jason Leek and Hopkinsville’s James Bradley Jr. were named to the team.
Leek finished as the state’s second leading scorer this year at 33.6 points per game and George was third at 31.3 points per game.
Walton averaged 18.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per game and Bradley averaged 15.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Other members of the team included Lyon County’s Bray Kirk and Nolan Coffman, Henderson County’s Cooper Davenport and Elijah Suggs, Hopkins County Central’s Davonyae Butcher, Caldwell County’s JayDarius Wilson, Madisonville-North Hopkins’ Kanyon Johnson, Livingston Central’s Logan Wring, Webster County’s Micah Austin and Dawson Springs’ Montgomery Johnston and Rex Blue.
The team was voted on by Region 2 coaches.
