Heights moves to 2-0 with win over Kenwood

University Heights Academy improved to 2-0 on the high school softball season with a 16-6 win over visiting Kenwood on Thursday.

Olivia Oakley went 3-for-4 and the Lady Blazers rallied from an early 4-0 deficit to grab the win.

Trailing 5-4 entering the bottom of the fourth, UHA scored two runs to take a 6-4 lead on a RBI by Oakley and an error by the Lady Knights.

In the bottom of the fifth, UHA used five hits and scored 10 runs to push its lead to 15-6. Katherine Wood had a two-run single in the frame.

Wood and Madison Williams both collected two hits on the day. Emily Dilday added a double.

Wood also picked up the pitching win, striking out 10 in five innings.

The Lady Blazers jump into District 8 action tonight as they play host to Christian County.
