UHA hires Jordan Grace as boys’ basketball coach

University Heights Academy has turned to one of its own to lead its basketball program.

Jordan Grace, a 2009 graduate of UHA, former Lady Blazers softball coach, and three-sport star with the Blazers was introduced to the media on Monday morning.

Grace said he was excited for the opportunity to lead the Blazers’ basketball program.

Grace played four seasons of varsity basketball for UHA and was part of the school’s 2008 All “A” state championship team. He also graduated UHA as its top goal scorer in soccer with 100 goals. William Bryan has since passed Grace for the top goal scorer honors. Grace also played baseball for the Blazers.

It was for all of those reasons he chose to apply for the basketball coaching position.

The Blazers graduated several key members of the 2024-25 squad but are expected to return three starters including Tylin George, Frank Pollard Jr. Keyshawn Moore as well as key reserves Jaiden Miles and Ryan Luckey.

Grace said he wants his team to play like he coaches with high energy.

UHA Athletics Director Taylor Sparks said the search committee interviewed five candidates last Wednesday and that he was pleased to be able to hire Grace because of his ties with the school.

Grace replaces Terry Hayes, who coached the Blazers for two seasons. He led UHA to the 2024 District 8 championship.

Christian County upset UHA in the first round of the 2025 district tournament and ended the Blazers’ season at 9-13.
