Errors again plagued the Christian County Colonels, who dropped a 7-5 high school baseball game to host Logan County Tuesday night.
The Colonels (8-7) committed four miscues in the game, including one in a six-run third for the Cougars.
Christian County jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning using a single, a walk, and two Cougar errors.
The Colonels cut the lead to 6-4 in the top of the fifth and drew within 6-5 in the sixth inning when Gage Montes grounded out to score Aiden Lewis.
However, a two-base error in the bottom of the sixth helped the Cougars score the final run of the night and send Christian County to its third straight loss.
Montes led the Colonels at the plate going 2-for-4.
Drew Finchum suffered the pitching loss going three innings and striking out two and walking one. Eddie Davis and Sebastian Dazey pitched the final three innings and didn’t allow an earned run.
The Colonels return to action Friday night in a District 8 game against University Heights Academy at Colonel Field. Airtime for the game will be 5:45 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm.
