The Hopkinsville Tigers and Fort Campbell Falcons will hit the baseball diamond this afternoon in a key District 8 game on Post.
The Tigers enter the game 6-6, but 0-1 in district play. Fort Campbell is 2-9 overall and 0-3 in district play.
The last time the Falcons defeated the Tigers in baseball was April 18, 2012 when Fort Campbell prevailed 3-0 over Hopkinsville. Ken Caver was coaching the Falcons then and Pedro Hernandez was the winning pitcher.
Current Nashville Sounds pitcher Easton McGee was an eighth-grader on that Hoptown team.
Both teams need a win tonight to avoid dropping into fourth place in the district standings.
Tonight’s game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
Also on the area baseball schedule tonight, Todd County Central is at Heritage Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m.
