Lady Colonels split games with Daviess, FSHS

Alondra Rodriguez went 3-for-4 and helped the Christian County Lady Colonels defeat Franklin-Simpson 8-6 Saturday in a softball game in Bowling Green.

One of Rodriguez’s hits was a triple that helped the Lady Colonels take a 2-0 lead. Jazzy Tejada added a double and single and Talyn Ezell added two hits.

Christian County looked to have the game in control until Franklin-Simpson scored four times in the top of the seventh inning to draw within 8-6. However, Jayda Turner shut down the rally.

The win helped soften the blow of the first game of the day when Daviess County rolled to an 11-0, five-inning win over the Lady Colonels.

Avery Adcock and Chloe Almy had the only hits in the game for Christian County, which also made three errors in the contest.

The Lady Colonels are now 12-10 on the season and are scheduled to play today at Russellville.
