Christian County couldn’t solve the pitching of Trigg County’s pitching and dropped a 6-1 high school baseball game to the visiting Wildcats Tuesday night.
Grayson McKee started and allowed only two hits through four innings. Chase Hampton threw three innings and struck out six while only allowing one hit.
Meanwhile, the Colonels’ defense committed seven errors behind pitcher Drew Fincham, who struck out five and allowed only four hits through 5 2/3 innings.
Sebastian Dazey led Christian County at the plate with a double. Johnny Lewis and Blake Boehman also had singles for the Colonels, who slipped to 14-12 on the season. Christian County is scheduled to play at No. 10-ranked Greenwood on Thursday.
Trigg scored two runs in the top of the third and padded its lead to 5-0 in the fifth. The Colonels got on the board in the bottom of the fifth before the Wildcats added another run in the top of the sixth.
Aidon Butts led the Wildcats with three RBI.
