Golf-a-Thon raises more than $18K for local FCA

The recent golf-a-thon fundraiser held by the West Kentucky FCA was a huge success, according to Area 3 Director Barry Payne.

Payne said the July 1 event, held at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club, raised nearly 18,500 dollars for the organization, which serves five counties.

Payne and his wife, Jettie, got the organization off the ground last fall and have begun FCA organizations in high schools in Christian, Caldwell, Trigg, Lyon, and Crittenden counties.

The golf-a-thon included eight two-person teams who played a total of 647 holes in one day.

Payne said there are plans to expand the event in 2026.

Payne also said he hopes to expand the organization to teams, not only in high schools, but in the community in the upcoming year.

Teams in this year’s golf-a-thon included Payne and Drew Fincham, Mitchell and Oliver Moore, Peyton Moshier and Aiden Lewis, Jack Gardner and Kyle Barbee, Jake Williams and Alex Blane, Mark and Ryan Pyle, Mark and Austin Strickland, and Shane and Kyle Congdon.
