After watching the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers dispatch Mayfield 8-0 in the opening game of the night, the UHA Blazers had a more difficult time with a Mayfield squad determined to pull off an upset in the boys’ All “A” Sectional soccer match Monday night.
Hayden Hunt had a goal and an assist and Cal Givens and Lincoln Hauret provided goals as UHA held off the Cardinals 3-2 at Givens Field.
Jack Cavanah had an assist and Hayden Fitzsimmons had a save in goal for UHA (6-1).
The Blazers advance to the All “A” State Soccer Tournament quarterfinals to play either St. Henry or the Region 10 winner at 10:45 a.m. Sept. 20 at Louisville Collegiate.
