Fort Campbell needs 5 sets to turn back Hoptown

The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers got a huge game from Madysen Taggart, but it wasn’t enough as they fell to host Fort Campbell 3-2 Thursday night in a District 8 volleyball match.

Taggart finished with 11 kills, four blocks, five aces, and five digs but Hoptown remained winless in District 8, falling to 0-3. Overall, Hoptown slipped to 2-9.

The Lady Tigers won the opening set 26-24 before dropping the next two 25-15, 25-20. They forced a fifth set by winning the fourth set 25-22.

However, the Lady Falcons (7-2, 2-1) scored the final few points to take a 17-15 win and picked up the match victory.

Alayna King had 14 assists, eight digs, three aces, and a kill and Sammy Walker had three blocks. Kyleigh Weber added 12 digs and a kill.

Hopkinsville is scheduled to play Monday at Todd County Central.
