Lady Blazers get a little revenge on Henderson County

Two of the top girls’ soccer teams in Region 2 squared off on the pitch Thursday night at Givens Field with host University Heights Academy picking up a 4-0 win over Henderson County.

The Lady Blazers got a little revenge on the Colonels, who have eliminated UHA from postseason play nine of the last 10 seasons. Henderson also had won 16 of the last 17 meetings with UHA.

Kendall Hancock wanted to erase that trend and scored in the opening 10 minutes of the game to give the Lady Blazers a lead. Hancock would end the game with a pair of goals.

Audrey Perry also had two goals and Alyssa Grise provided an assist.

Meanwhile, the Lady Blazers’ defense didn’t allow many Lady Colonels’ opportunities. Madison Williams had five saves in goal.

UHA improves to 8-1-1 on the season and are scheduled to play host to Fort Campbell on Monday night in a District 8 match.
