The final boys’ high school regular season soccer match between Hopkinsville and Christian County was over before it ever really got started.
The Tigers scored three goals in the opening four minutes and rolled to an 8-0 District 8 win Thursday night at the Stadium of Champions.
Five different Tigers got into the scoring column with Jason Macario and Erick Hernandez each scoring a pair of goals and providing an assist. Alex Rameirez also had a pair of goals for Hoptown, which improved to 6-4-1 overall and 3-0 in district play.
Ryan Bernal and Anthony Evangelista also had a goal each and Jamiah Shanklin and Cesar Sotelo each had an assist.
Landon Beaulieu had one save and earned the shutout in goal.
Meanwhile, Christian County slipped to 1-9 on the season and 1-3 in district play.
Hopkinsville and Christian County will consolidate into the Christian County Tigers next fall.
The Tigers, who take over first place in the District 8 standings, are scheduled to play host to Logan County on Saturday morning. Meanwhile, Christian County is set to play Muhlenberg County at home on Monday night.
