Franklin-Simpson turns back Lady Tigers, 7-3

The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers went on the road Thursday night to take on Franklin-Simpson in a girls’ high school soccer match.

The Lady Wildcats, who have won six straight matches, improved to 15-1 on the season as they defeated Hoptown 7-3.

Kaylyn Lynch had a goal and an assist and Kaydon Coats had two goals for the Lady Tigers, who slipped to 6-8 on the season.

Hopkinsville’s starting goalkeeper Jaleigha McFarland was injured and did not play. Karla Quintanilla and Kaylynn Schwartz combined to make nine saves in the game for the Lady Tigers.

Hoptown is scheduled to return to action Tuesday at home against Hopkins County Central.
