CCHS takes straight set win over Lady Blazers

The Christian County Lady Colonels picked up their second win of the season over the host University Heights Academy Lady Blazers 3-0 Tuesday night.

The Lady Colonels took the first set 25-22 and then held off a gritty UHA squad 27-25 in the second set. Christian County took the match with a 25-15 win in the third set to move to 2-0 in District 8 play.

Niyona Brown, Megan Long, and Lilliam Burcham each had a pair of kills for UHA, which fell to 9-12 overall and 2-3 in district play.

Gretchan Durham provided 11 assists and five digs along with one block. Cassidy Keller had seven digs and Ava Crawford had five digs.

Christian County did not provide statistics to WHOP from the game.

The Lady Colonels improved to 12-13 overall and are scheduled to play at Hopkinsville Thursday night in a District 8 match.

UHA is scheduled to return to action Thursday at home with Madisonville-North Hopkins.
