The dates and times for the District 8 girls’ and boys’ soccer tournaments were set during a meeting Wednesday morning at Christian County High School.
The boys’ tournament will open play at 9 a.m. on Oct. 4 with Heritage Christian Academy (0-8, 0-3) taking on Christian County (1-9, 1-3) at the Stadium of Champions.
The winner of that game will advance to take on the top seed at 7 p.m. on Oct. 7 in the second semifinal contest. The first semifinal will feature Fort Campbell (4-8, 2-2) against the No. 2 seed at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 7.
Hopkinsville and University Heights Academy are scheduled to resume their Monday night match that was halted by a storm with just more than 2 minutes left in the first half. Officials with both schools said they were planning to meet around 2 p.m. today to set the time for tonight’s game. The winner will be the No. 1 seed and the losing team will be the No. 2 seed.
The boys’ tournament championship is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Stadium of Champions.
Meanwhile, the Girls’ District 8 Soccer Tournament is scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 6. In the second game at 7 p.m., No. 2 seed Hopkinsville (6-8, 2-1) will meet No. 3 seed Fort Campbell (6-6, 1-3). In the first game of the night, top seed UHA (11-2-1, 3-0) will take on No. 4 seed Christian County (4-11-1, 0-3) at 5:30 p.m.
The championship match is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8.
All matches will be at the Stadium of Champions.
Tickets each night will be $10 and must be purchased online at Gofan.com. Children ages 5-and-under will be admitted free.
