The top two Region 2 girls’ soccer teams, according to the recently released RPI ratings, met Thursday night at Givens Field.
Top-ranked University Heights Academy dominated play but had to hold on for a 2-1 victory over the No. 2-ranked Hopkins County Central Lady Storm.
UHA outshot Hopkins Central 31-6 in the Lady Blazers’ homecoming game.
Kendall Hancock had an unassisted goal and the Lady Blazers also got an own goal.
Madison Williams had two saves and earned the win in goal.
UHA improved to 12-2-1 on the season and will play Tuesday night at Madisonville-North Hopkins.
