Hopkinsville High School’s Lauren Mayes crossed the finish line first in the Girls’ High School Division at the Louisville Cross Country Classic Saturday at Tom Sawyer State Park.
Mayes beat out 163 other runners while teammates Alexis Herrera-Lovato finished eighth and Kayden Coats was 46th. The Lady Tigers finished fifth as a team.
Amerah Acree placed 76th and Luanna Acree was 91st.
Meanwhile, Hoptown’s Tyson Cavinder and Savior Davis each had top-15 finishes over the weekend in boys’ high school race.
Cavinder finished fourth overall and Davis was 11th out of 350 runners.
The Tigers’ Levi Johnston finished 70th and Fernando Ginez Rojas was 174th.
