Times, dates set for District 8 volleyball tournament

The dates and times for the District 8 Volleyball Tournament were set during a meeting Tuesday morning at Christian County High School.

The tournament will be Oct. 20-23 at Christian County High School’s Lyle Dunbar Gym.

The first game will be Monday, Oct. 21, with fifth seed Hopkinsville (6-19) meeting No. 4 seed University Heights Academy (11-17) at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have met four times this season with UHA winning all four.

The winner of that game will play the top seed at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22. The second semifinal game will be at 7 p.m. and feature the No. 2 seed against the No. 3 seed.

The top three seeds will be determined after Tuesday night’s District 8 game between Fort Campbell and Christian County at CCHS.

According to Hopkinsville Athletics Director Jacob Ezell, a Christian County win Tuesday will make the Lady Colonels the top seed, followed by Heritage Christian Academy, and Fort Campbell.

However, if Fort Campbell wins Tuesday night, Christian County, HCA, and Fort Campbell would be tied for the top spot. The seeding would be decided by RPI.

The championship game is scheduled for 6 p.m., Oct. 23.

Tickets to each session will be $10 and can be purchased through Gofan.com. Children ages 5-and-under will be admitted free.
