HHS names Myers, DeArmond as wrestling coaches for final season

Hopkinsville High School has announced changes in leadership for the boys’ and girls’ wrestling programs, effective immediately.

A news release from the Christian County Public Schools on Thursday afternoon said Dison Myers has been named interim head coach for the Lady Tigers’ program. He currently serves as the girls’ wrestling coach at Christian County High School and will oversee both programs.

“We are very excited to have Coach Myers lead the HHS girls wrestling program,” Hopkinsville Athletic Director Jacob Ezell said in the release. “Coach Myers brings unmatched energy, experience, and passion to the program.”

Meanwhile, Hopkinsville High School assistant coach Cameron DeArmond has been named interim head coach for the Tigers’ wrestling program.

“We are very excited to have Coach DeArmond lead our boys wrestling program,” Ezell said in the release. “He will be a great addition to the HHS Tiger athletics program. He has done great things with assisting the HHS wrestling program, and we’re looking forward to the same success and leadership moving forward as the interim head coach.”

Myers and DeArmond take over for Robert Bussell, who has coached the Tigers and Lady Tigers for the last two seasons.
