The Christian County Lady Colonels scored the first 18 points of the game and rolled past visiting Todd County Central 83-25 Tuesday night in the final girls’ high school basketball game at Lyle Dunbar Gym.
On Senior Night, senior guard Anaysia Bagwell scored 27 points to lead the Lady Colonels, who improved to 12-9 on the season with their fourth straight victory.
Fellow senior guard Adreyona Smith had eight points, but her defensive pressure helped force 11 first-quarter turnovers by Todd and allowed the Lady Colonels to grab an 18-0 lead.
Ja’Mya Kay finally got the Lady Rebels on the scoreboard with 2:44 left in the first quarter.
Christian County continued to pressure the Todd Central guards the second quarter and Bagwell put on an offensive display as she had 23 of her 27 points in the first half. The Lady Colonels led 47-9 at halftime.
Carliah Hobson scored 10 points for Christian County, which will finish the season Thursday night at Logan County.
Todd Central dropped to 4-20 on the season and were led in scoring by Daymea Garrett’s nine points.
