Area baseball games postponed; CCHS to play HHS in softball tonight

Mother Nature has thrown a nasty curveball on the opening of the high school and softball season.

Cold weather put a halt to first day of high school baseball Monday.

In addition, Heritage Christian Academy has postponed today’s game due to cold temperatures.

University Heights Academy, which is ranked No. 16 in the preseason Prep Baseball Kentucky Power 25 Poll, was scheduled to play at Union County tonight. However, that game has been postponed to a later day.

Christian County, which is ranked No. 17 in the poll, was scheduled to visit No. 3 McCracken County tonight, but that game has been moved to Thursday.

In softball, Christian County is scheduled to play host to Hopkinsville at 5:30 p.m. today in what could be the final meeting between the school.

It’s the first meeting in softball between the two schools since 2024. Hoptown did not field a team last year.
