Jayda Turner drove in three runs and led visiting Christian County to a 6-4 high school softball victory over Muhlenberg County on Monday night.
The Lady Colonels led 3-2 entering the top of the fifth inning when the offense got going.
A couple of Lady Mustangs’ errors and a walk set the table for Christian County. Talyn Ezell made Muhlenberg pay with a run-scoring single. Chloe Almy scored on a wild pitch to make it 5-2 and then Jayda Turner scored on another error for a 6-2 advantage.
Muhlenberg got one run back in the bottom of the fifth.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Lady Mustangs (9-8) had a two-out single to extend the game and then Joshlynn Noe doubled to score a run. However, Christian County center fielder Alexis Epps threw Noe out at third to end the game.
Alyssa Petterson had a double and a single and picked up the pitching win for the Lady Colonels. Ezell and Jayda Turner each had a pair of hits in the win.
Christian County improved to 11-5-1 and is scheduled to play host to Todd County Central on Thursday.
