Gresham’s big night helps HCA rally past Fort Campbell

Heritage Christian Academy scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning and rallied for a 12-9 high school baseball win over host Fort Campbell Friday night. 

The Falcons led 4-0 after two innings, only to see the Warriors jump to a 5-4 lead in the third. 

Back came the Falcons with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third inning for a 6-5 advantage.  

Fort Campbell pushed its lead to 8-5 after four and the score remained until the seventh. 

Heritage had five hits and took advantage of two walks and a hit batter to score seven runs. Caden Gresham had a three-run double that gave HCA its lead at 11-8. 

Gresham had a good night, going 2-for-5 and driving in four runs.  

Collin Outland and Caden Hale each had two singles for Heritage, which won its second straight game to improve to 8-14 on the season. The Warriors also swept the Falcons in their two meetings this season. 

Hale picked up the pitching win in relief. He went four innings and struck out four. 

The Warriors are scheduled to play host to Foundation Christian on Monday afternoon.
