The District 8 Baseball Tournament begins tonight with No. 2-seed University Heights Academy taking on three seed Fort Campbell at 5:30 p.m. at Chris Simmons Field.
Tonight’s game will air at 5:15 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
The third-ranked Blazers (25-7) defeated the Falcons (4-19) in their lone meeting this season 17-2 in four innings.
Tonight’s winner will advance to play top seed Christian County (20-15) at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the district championship game. Tickets are $10 and are cash only at the gate.
Several district tournaments got underway over the weekend.
In the District 6 Baseball Tournament on Sunday, Webster County knocked off Union County 11-7 and will take on Henderson County in tonight’s 7 p.m. championship.
In District 7, Caldwell County rallied for a 5-3 win over Hopkins County Central and Madisonville-North Hopkins pounded Dawson Springs 18-0 in three innings on Saturday. The Tigers and Maroons meet for the championship at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Princeton.
In the District 7 Softball Tournament at Madisonville on Saturday, the host Lady Maroons routed Dawson Springs 16-0 in three innings, and Caldwell County edged Hopkins County Central 6-5. The Lady Maroons and Lady Tigers will meet at 6 p.m. today in the championship game.
Meanwhile, the District 5 Baseball Tournament begins tonight at the Trigg County Recreational Complex. Lyon County meets Livingston Central at 5:30, and the host Wildcats will play Crittenden County at 7 p.m. The championship is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The District 13 Baseball Tournament will begin tonight at Franklin-Simpson. At 5:30, the Wildcats will play Russellville followed by Todd County Central against Logan County at 7:30. The championship game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The District 5 Softball Tournament begins tonight at the Trigg County Recreational Complex with Trigg County meeting Crittenden County at 6 p.m. That game will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by Livingston Central against Lyon County. The championship is scheduled for 6 p.m., Tuesday.
In District 6, Webster County and Union County are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. tonight at Henderson. The winner advances to play Henderson County at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the championship game.
