University Heights Academy will take on Wolfe County in the first round of the KHSAA State Baseball Tournament on Thursday afternoon in Lexington.
The defending Region 14 champion Wolves defeated Hazard 4-2 Friday night to win the Region 14 championship. Wolfe County has now won six straight games and enters the state tournament with a 23-10 record.
Wolfe County lost to Boyd County in the 2025 KHSAA State Baseball Tournament quarterfinals.
UHA is making its first appearance in the KHSAA State Baseball Tournament after defeating Christian County 12-1 in five innings on Thursday. The seventh-ranked Blazers are 29-8 on the season.
The Blazers won their first All “A” Classic State Tournament earlier in the season.
