Former Christian County High School boys’ basketball coach Dior Curtis has been named the Murray High School boys’ basketball coach.
The school announced Wednesday that Curtis, who just a few days ago was named the school’s athletics director, would take over the boys’ basketball head coaching duties.
Curtis began his coaching career with the Tigers in 2010 as an assistant. He was named head coach in 2017 and led Murray to a 142-72 record in seven seasons. He also led the Tigers to the 2022 Region 1 championship.
Curtis left Murray and coached Christian County for two seasons, leading the Colonels to a District 8 Tournament title in 2025 and two Region 2 Tournament apperances.
He applied for the new Christian County High School boys’ basketball coaching position that was awarded to Kerry Stovall. Curtis turned down an offer to be an assistant coach at the new school.
Curtis said he was humbled to accept the position of head boys basketball coach at Murray. In addition to his athletic director and basketball coaching duties, Curtis will serve as an alternative education teacher at Murray High School.
