Addison, Fox, Hargrove named new CCHS coaches

Three more coaching positions for the new Christian County High School were announced Thursday afternoon at the Christian County Public Schools Board of Education Board Room.

Hopkinsville High School’s girls’ soccer coach Jeff Addison was named the new school’s first girls’ soccer coach.

Meanwhile, Jacob Fox and Doug Hargrove were announced as the new school’s boys’ and girls’ golf coaches, respectively.

Addison is a 1993 graduate of Hopkinsville High School and returned to the school in 1995 as an assistant girls’ soccer coach. He took over as head coach in 2003 and coached through the 2020 season.

Addison returned midway through the 2022 season and coached the Lady Tigers through the final season in 2025. During that span, Addison won a school-record 268 games, 13 district titles and three regional crowns.

Addison said he was excited for the opportunity to coach the Christian County Lady Tigers.

The boys’ golf team will be in the hands of Jacob Fox, a PGA Associate and Operation 36 Lead Coach, Assistant Golf Professional at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club, Youth Development Instructor, and a U.S. Army Veteran.

Fox currently runs an indoor youth golf program with 24 students from second thru 10th grade.

Fox said he was looking forward to motivating and getting kids excited for the game of golf.

Meanwhile, veteran coach Doug Hargrove has been named the Christian County High School Lady Tigers’ girls’ golf coach.

Hargrove has served as a volleyball coach at Trigg County High School and also helped his wife, Mindy, coach Hopkinsville High School volleyball for 12 years. He also currently serves as the girls’ tennis coach at Hopkinsville High School.

Hargrove is a 1982 graduate of Trigg County High School and graduated from Murray State University in 1988. He is retired from the Kentucky Parks System and has been involved coaching high school sports for 19 years.

Hargrove said he is looking forward to working with Fox and building a new program.

Golf will be the first sport that will compete as the new Christian County High School Tigers and Lady Tigers. Their season officially begins on July 21.

The hiring of these three coaches means the fall coaches for the new school are now in place.

William Bryan was named boys’ soccer coach in December. Other coaches who have been announced for next year include Dustin Lopez (football), Roger Volk (cross country), and Zach Hardison (volleyball).
