Attorneys ready for McHenry Street murder case retrial

Robert Torian who is charged with murder appeared in Christian Circuit Court on Wednesday where he had his final pretrial conference before his trial starts in February.

Torian is charged with murder in connection to the 2019 fatal shooting of Terrill Moore on McHenry Street. Torian’s case originally went to trial in September 2023, but it resulted in a mistrial as the jury was not able to reach a unanimous verdict.

Circuit Court Judge Andrew Self checked with Torian’s defense attorney Jason Byrd and special prosecutor, Dennis Foust to see if anything was keeping them from going to trial.

Foust says he needs to provide Byrd with an interview relevant to the case, but other then that they are ready to go. Self confirmed that Torian’s retrial will start on February 12.
