It was total domination by the Hopkinsville Tigers as they routed Prosser Academy of Chicago 55-0 Saturday afternoon in a high school football game at the Stadium of Champions.
Offensively, the Tigers churned out 373 total yards while the defense held the Falcons (1-1) to only 83.
Leading the way for Hoptown was senior running back James Bradley Jr., who rushed for three touchdowns and returned an interception for a score.
Bradley gave the Tigers a 6-0 lead on a 62-yard run with 11:41 to go in the opening quarter. The bruising back also scored on a 13-yard run at the 6:15 mark of the first period.
Bradley’s third scoring run came from 7 yards out with 7:11 to go in the half and he added the 78-yard interception return less than 2:00 later.
Not to be outdone by the offense and defense, the Tigers also scored with their special teams as Xzaivion Panapa returned a blocked punt 12 yards for a touchdown with 10:22 to go in the first quarter.
Jasiah McCarley threw for 111 yards and a 59-yard scoring pass to Tremayne Clay with 10:59 remaining in the first half. McCarley added a 7-yard scoring run with 8:20 to go in the third.
Pooch Wilson had the Tigers’ final score on a 12-yard run with 6:35 left in the game.
Jeremiah Smith added 73 yards rushing on six carries for the Tigers and Gavin Harton had seven extra-point kicks.
Hopkinsville improves to 2-1 on the season and will play Friday night at Trigg County. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and airtime is 6:30 p.m. on Newsradio 99.3 FM and 1230 AM WHOP.
