A pair of local high school volleyball teams are preparing to play in the Bluegrass State Games this weekend in Lexington.
The Christian County Lady Colonels, who are led by Coach Sam Self, begin play on Friday at Tates Creek High School. The Lady Colonels are scheduled to play Paintsville at 1 p.m. and Central Hardin at 2 p.m. local time. Their game time Saturday will be determined by their Friday results.
Meanwhile, University Heights Academy, led by Coach Faye Hendricks, will be playing Friday at Lafayette High School. The Lady Blazers are scheduled to take on Lexington Lafayette at 1 p.m. and Southwestern at 2 p.m. local time.
UHA’s Saturday game times will be determined by Friday’s pool play.
The high school regular season is scheduled to begin Aug. 19.
