Fresh off a pair of fourth-place finishes in the prestigious King of the Bluegrass and Cape Girardeau Tiger Classic tournaments, the Christian County Colonels’ wrestling team will play host to the Christian County Invitational Saturday.
Colonels’ head coach Dee Leavell said 16 teams have committed to attend the event including the Colonels, Hopkinsville, Caldwell County, Fort Campbell, and Trigg County.
Other schools expected to attend include McCracken County, Paducah Tilghman, Spencer County, Rossview, Tenn., Calloway County, Station Camp, Tenn., Daviess County, Goreville, Ill., Owensboro, Pulaski County, and Apollo.
Scales will open at 6:30 a.m. and weigh-in will begin at 7 a.m. until 8 a.m. Team warm-ups will begin at 8 a.m. and a coaches meeting will begin at 9 a.m.
Wrestling will start at 9:30 a.m.
