Christian County sophomore Cayden Cline took second place in the Storm Invitational cross country meet on Saturday at Hopkins County Central.
CCHS runner Mia Castillo placed 58th in the girls’ varsity race.
In the middle school boys 3K race Christian County’s Lucas Coates captured top honors with a 9:39.92 and teammate Bryce Hamlin sprinting past an Owensboro runner in the final 200 meters for second place. Cash Taggart placed 33rd and Elliot Davidson was 89th for the Colonels boys.
In the Middle School race, the Lady Colonels were fifth of 20 teams
Mia Gbemudu led the way in 14th 12:04.99, followed by Kaylyn Jorgensen in 23rd at 13:12, and Eliza McLaughling in 52nd place at 14:48.46. Lexi Cavinder was 60th in 15:26 with Lilly Collins in 61st 15:27. Aisabell Coleman finished 72nd in 18:01.
In the Elementary 1.1-K race, Malachi Acree took 68th.
On the girls’ side Mariah Gbemudu was 33rd with Camille Hall 54th and Amari Beamon was 67th
