The Christian County Colonels moved into a first-place tie with Hopkinsville in the boys’ District 8 soccer standings with a 4-0 win over Fort Campbell Tuesday night at the Stadium of Champions.
The Colonels and Falcons played to a 0-0 tie through the first 25 minutes before Zamien Matlock took a pass from Christian Lopez and found the back of net for a 1-0 lead.
Alex Hale padded the lead to 2-0 in the 33rd minute on an assist from Erwin Macario and the Colonels held that advantage at half.
Leland Creamer scored in the opening minute of the second half on an assist from Christian Lopez to push the lead to 3-0. Noah Davis ended the scoring on another assist from Lopez 22 seconds later.
Christian County, which improved to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in district play, had 32 shots including 17 on goal.
Mason Malone earned the shutout in goal for the Colonels.
Fort Campbell slipped to 1-3 and 1-2 in district play.
