The Christian County high school track teams participated in the Henderson County Invitational over the weekend to start their 2026 spring outdoor season..
Satona Bailey continues to make a name for himself as he took first place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.30 seconds and he was runner-up in the 100-meter dash in 11.32 seconds. Karmelo Bailey took fifth in the 100-meter dash in 11.68.
Satona Bailey also ran fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.79 seconds.
The Colonels’ 4×800-meter relay team of Lucas Coats, Max Ray, Bryce Hamlin, and Cayden Cline finished fourth place in 9:34.29.
Ray turned in a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:16.90.
Cline also earned a ninth-place individual finish in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 4:58.83.
The Colonels’ 100-meter relay team finished fifth in 46.16 seconds.
The 200-meter relay team of Satona Bailey, DeAsian Harris, Paul Abren, and Travarous Quarles finished eighth in 1:40.25.
Christian County’s 400-meter relay team of Satona Bailey, Karmelo Bailey, Ray, and Cline took sixth place in 3:56.59.
The Colonels finished sixth out of 20 teams in the meet.
In the long jump, the Colonels’ Chynaysneon Harris was ninth with a leap of 19-feet, 6-inches. Jimmarion Byrd took sixth in the shot put with a throw of 35-feet, 9-inches.
Christian County’s girls’ team finished seventh place overall out of 20 teams.
Leading the way Jazmyn Rodriguez, who took third place in the 100-meter dash in 13.86 seconds. Rodriguez also finished fifth in the 200-meter dash in 29.21.
Genesis McGee, fresh off a successful basketball season, took third place in the discus throw, with a toss of 75-feet, 8-inches.
In the 400-meter dash, Imani Cushenberry took eighth and Shyla Haverstick was ninth in 1:13.46 and 1:19.93, respectively.
In the girls’ long jump, Kaliyah Leavell had a leap of 11-feet, 4.5-inches to earn a ninth-place finish.
The girls’ 100-meter relay team finished fifth in 57.84 seconds and the 400-meter relay team of Mia Gbemudu, Cushenberry, Haverstick, and Malaya Stiger took sixth place in 5:04.43.
