Colonels look to bounce back in FNB Bank Holiday Classic

On Wednesday night, the Christian Co. Colonels will play Douglass High School out of Atlanta, Georgia in the FNB Bank Holiday Classic tournament hosted by Marshall Co.

The Colonels will be coming off a 63-42 Monday night loss against the Ohio Co. Eagles.

After the game, head coach Toby Miles said “no energy” from his team was the biggest contributor to the loss.

A box and one defense from the Eagles in priority of Derrell Bateman also seemed to give Bateman and the Colonels problems as Derrell finished with a season-low 11 points.

Another reason for the drop in team-performance, could be the sidelining of Jordan Miles who suffered a high-ankle sprain, in the win against Hopkinsville December 15.

With the losing the second leading scorer on the team, Jasean Riley stepped up in the loss against Ohio Co. scoring 15 points.

Help like that will be needed Wednesday night, as the Colonels will look to take on the 8-3 Douglass Astros.

They are led in scoring by Noah Treadwell, a 6’5″ senior guard who averages 18 points per game.

This will also be a team with size as their are 7 players that are 6’3″ and above to include a 6’8″ post-player.

It will be a late night affair for both teams as tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

Our F&M Bank pregame show will begin at 8:15 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm.
