The Christian County Colonels returned to the basketball court for the first time in nearly two weeks and couldn’t shake off the rust as they dropped a 78-42 decision to No. 10-ranked McCracken County Thursday night in Paducah.
The Mustangs (20-3) outscored the Colonels 24-6 in the third quarter to blow open the game.
McCracken led 20-10 after one quarter and opened up a 14-point lead early in the second period. Stafford Winston’s 3-pointer drew Christian County to within seven about midway through the second quarter.
However, Miles Woodfork and Aaron Adams took over in the final minutes of the half and the Mustangs pushed their advantage to 39-24 at the break.
Rahsean Stevenson led Christian County with 17 points.
Miles Woodfork scored 19 points to lead McCracken County. Adams finished with 13.
Christian County, which falls to 6-11, returns to action tonight at Caldwell County. Airtime is scheduled for around 7:30 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
