Cols take 3rd, Lady Cols 8th at FCHS meet

The Christian County Colonels finished third in the Coach Johnson Memorial Classic high school track meet Saturday at Fort Campbell’s Fryar Stadium.

Satona Bailey led the way for the Colonels with a first place finish in the 100-meter dash and a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash.

Iyobosa Ogbes took first in the high jump and CJ McCarley had a pair of gold medals in the discus and shot put events.

The Colonels’ Kristen Johnson earned three top-five finishes. He took third in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash and fifth in the 400-meter dash.

Jacob Webb cross the line fifth in the 1,600-meter run and Cayden Cline finished seventh in the 800-meter run. Cline also was fifth in the 3,200-meter run.

Jimmarion Byrd earned a sixth-place finish in the shot put and was ninth in the discus. Chris Quarles earned a 10th-place finish in the discus.

Fort Campbell won the boys’ event with 141 points, followed by Rossview (112) and Christian County (87.5).

In the girls’ meet, Christian County’s Symeria Brown took second place in the 400-meter dash and was ninth in the 200-meter dash to lead the Lady Colonels to an eighth-place finish.

Aaliyah Bell was fourth in the 800-meter run and Aubree Cline took eighth in the 1,600-meter run. Alyssa Maase was 10th in the 1,600-meter run.

Jazmyn Rodriguez earned a 10th-place finish in the 100-meter dash.

Olivia Jones grabbed a sixth-place finish in the discus.

The Lady Colonels’ 400-meter relay team was fourth and the 200-meter relay team took fifth. The 100-meter relay team was eighth.

Rossview won the girls’ meet with 108 points, followed by Fort Campbell (104) and Clarksville (96).
