County, Hoptown honor senior golfers in final match

The Hopkinsville and Christian County golf teams completed their final high school regular season golf matches on Thursday afternoon at Western Hills Golf Course.

Before the match, Hoptown senior Ryan Martin and Christian County senior Drew Fincham were honored.

Martin went on to lead Hopkinsville on the day with a 40 and Fincham paced the Colonels with a 40.

Logan County won the three-team match with a team score of 156. The Cougars’ Davis Switzer earned low medalist honors with a 38.

Hoptown shot a team score of 171 to take second place. Matt Baker (43), Isaiah Wood (44), Sam Riggs (44), and Henry Riggs (46) also played for the Tigers.

Christian County had a team score of 186. Chris Adcock (44), Cansler Wells (50), Clayton Dixon (52), and Jaedon McMillan (52) also played for the Colonels.

Hopkinsville also had several players on the course playing as individuals. They included JB Payne (51), Landyn Hollimon (52), Aiden Riley (53), and Alex Naylor (58).

Both Hopkinsville and Christian County will prepare for the Region 2 Tournament, which is scheduled for Tuesday at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
