Daniel, Day, Northington lead Lady Colonels on Senior Night

The Christian County Lady Colonels celebrated their seniors before their game with Caldwell County on Monday night. Then, they celebrated after defeating the Lady Tigers 75-52.

Senior Lazarie Daniel led the way with 24 points and senior Ne’Vaeh Day added 19 points for the Lady Colonels. Senior guard Amari Northington chipped in 12 points as Christian County improved to 16-9 on the season.

Daniel also had eight rebounds, four assists and seven steals on the night.

Daniel scored 10 of her 24 points in the second quarter as the Lady Colonels rallied from a 16-11 deficit to take a 34-25 halftime advantage. Northington also added a pair of 3-pointers in the period.

Daniel stayed hot in the third quarter with 10 more points as the Lady Colonels extended their lead to 52-37.

Day did most of her damage in the first quarter as she 11 points in the period.

The Lady Colonels, who have won seven of their last eight games, are scheduled to end the regular season Thursday night at Logan County, weather permitting.

Caldwell County, which fell to 10-15, was led by Tink Clark’s 16 points.
