Dill shines for UHA at Class 1-A, Region 1 Meet

University Heights Academy’s track team finished with one champion and several state qualifiers with their performance Saturday at the Class 1-A, Region 1 Track and Field at Mayfield High School. 

Emma Dill repeated as the 300-meter hurdles region champion as she broke the tape in 51.22 seconds. The senior also was third in the 100-meter hurdles (17.52). 

Dill also helped the Lady Blazers’ 4×200-meter relay team, which included Palin Hampton, Kendall Hancock, and Ajae Oatts, grab a regional crown with a time of 1:50.65. 

The Lady Blazers’ 4×400-meter relay team of Dill, Hancock, Oatts, and Amoree Owen also won the region title with a time of 4:26.80. 

Individually, the Lady Blazers saw Oatts finish runner-up in the 100-meter Dash (13.08) and the 200-meter Dash (27.19). Hancock also took fourth in the 200-meter Dash in 27.67. 

Hancock was the regional runner-up in the 400-meter Dash with a time of 1:03.26. 

Emma Flynn also had a good regional meet with a third-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:46.67). 

Fort Campbell won the girls’ Class 1-A, Region 1 meet with 125 points. Caldwell County was second (102) and Murray was third (79). UHA took fourth place with 77 points. 

For the UHA boys’ team, several runners earned top-four finishes. 

Freshman Graham Conrad was the regional runner-up in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:44.03. Jude Finch also took second in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 10:48.67. Conrad was third in 10:52.21. 

Seniors Ryan Luckey and Zech Davis had a strong regional meet. 

Luckey ran fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.83 and fourth in the 400-meter dash in 54.65. Davis was fourth in the 800-meter run as he crossed the line in 2:10.53.  

Eighth-grader Ronan Croney-Sallie earned a fourth-place finish in the Triple Jump with a leap of 38-feet, 8-inches. 

The Blazers’ 800-meter relay team of Graham Conrad, Croney-Sallie, Finch, and Davis finished as regional runner-up at 8:48.78. 

Meanwhile, the 400-meter relay team took third in 3:46.54. That group included Croney-Sallie, Luckey, Davis, and Jackson Estes. 

The 200-meter relay team of Croney-Sallie, Davis, Estes, and Luckey finished fourth in 37.89 seconds. 

The Blazers took fourth place as a team with 58 points. Fort Campbell won the boys’ meet with 143 points, followed by Caldwell County (109), and Murray (90).
