The 2024-25 high school basketball regular season is over and the District 8 tournaments will get underway tonight at Hopkinsville High School.
The boys’ tournament will tip things off as No. 4 seed Heritage Christian Academy will take on No. 5 Fort Campbell (3-24) at 5:30 p.m. today. The Warriors are 10-17 and have beaten the Falcons twice during the regular season (79-67 and 68-57).
The winner will advance to Tuesday night’s first semifinal game at 5:30 p.m. against top seed Hopkinsville (14-14). The loser of tonight’s game will see its season come to an end.
Second seed University Heights Academy (10-12) will take on No. 3 Christian County (6-22) in the second semifinal game at 7 p.m. Tuesday night in a win or go home game.
The boys’ championship is set for 6 p.m. Friday with both the district champion and runner-up advancing to the Region 2 tournament next week at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School.
Meanwhile, the girls’ District 8 Basketball Tournament begins tonight with second seed Hopkinsville (9-11) taking on third seed Fort Campbell (8-11) at 7 p.m.
The Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Falcons 75-28 in their only meeting this season. The winner will advance to play top seed Christian County (16-9) in the championship game Thursday night at 6 p.m.
Both the winner and runner-up will advance to next week’s Region 2 tournament at Christian County High School.
Tickets for the District 8 Tournament are $10 each night and cash only at the door. No bags or purses will be allowed into the gym.
Both of tonight’s games will air on 95.3 The Farm. The F&M Bank Pregame Show is set for 5:15 p.m.
